What a Wonderful Christmas...

Yesterday was Christmas Day. It was probably one of the best Christmas' i have had. It was a long day with rain, but it was a great Christmas. It was with the people i love the most and the things i love the most: Worshiping the Lord and being with the ones i love.

On Christmas Eve, i went up to Melissa's house and enjoyed the day there with her and her family. It was really elegant and special as we ate a classic prime rib dinner, opened our gifts from each other, and watched the holiday classics Home Alone 1&2. So in the morning, Melissa's family picked me up and we went to her grandma's house to breakfast and exchange gifts for Christmas. I came back with a lot of gift cards to some of my favorite places like Starbucks and Chipotle. It was a blessing! Every time i go over there, they just pile on the gifts. You cannot deny it, but its pretty awesome getting a lot of gifts you do not expect to get! After having fun with the Melissa's side of the family, we left about mid afternoon and got stuck on the freeway for just over an hour. Ugh! Traffic was ugly, but that gave me time to take a quick nap and prepare to feast on Christmas dinner! Finally we got to my house. Michelle came over and Melissa and her family joined us for a traditional Christmas dinner with turkey, etc. After we ate dinner, we opened gifts together. It was really fun giving each other gifts. This year there were a lot of really cool gifts. One of the board games Michelle got for Christmas was a hit. We played this game called "The Last Word". It can get intense playing with my brother and my friend nick because all we do is yell louder and louder over each other trying to get the 'last word' haha. Let me explain the game a bit, there is a card with a letter on it and you have to say words that begin with that letter which corresponds with the category on the card you pick up. The one who says the first word that starts with that letter pushes the timer to start the round which has a random time span. It may give everyone ten seconds or thirty seconds, but whatever the case is, if your the last one to say a word before the timer goes off, you win! The hardest part is coming up with multiple things to say that start with the specific letter. We played this for almost two hours that night. What a fun time!

After the game, we enjoyed one of the most glorious chocolate cakes i have ever eaten. I ordered a special cake from the Cheesecake Factory for my mom and dad this Christmas and their Anniversary which is today. I got them the Chocolate Tower Truffle Cake. Everyone marveled at it because it was so giant and good. I will post a picture of it sometime soon. Anyways, Christmas was not complete with out Jesus Christ. Christmas begins with "Christ." We all were thankful for what God did for us by sending His Son to be our Savior. I think the best verse to sum up Christmas is one of the most memorized verses in the Christian faith:

"For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

That's the true purpose of Christmas. Amen to that. Hope you all have a great Christmas vacation! Let me know what you did for Christmas and what gifts you got. Blessings!
