Great Church Night...

Tonight at Harvest was a very powerful evening of worship and Bible study. Pastor James MacDonald gave his 5th message on "Trials." I love the message tonight about the "thorn in the flesh" and how we all one. I sure know what my thorn could possibly be, but I'm not going to tell you, lol.

However, i did learn that God does not give us these thorns, but the enemy does (2 Corinthians 12:7b). God allows these things to happen so we can grow closer to Him and become more humble and holy. I was marveled at what i learned tonight. I really liked the example of how Paul said he tried to pray away his thorn, but he could not after pleading three times. The next verse Paul says "Therefore i boast in my infirmities," of otherwise stated, "Therefore Your will be done God, glory to you for this trial." That was amazing, because that is exactly what Christ did when he was in the garden praying to the Father to "take this cup from me," then secondly, "if it is possible that this cup may pass by me," and thirdly, "O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done" (read Matthew 26:36-46). That is the ultimate example of how we need to carry out our lives daily, with full submission to Christ. I know when i am totally sold out for the Lord, completely committed and seriously submitted, God gives me strength, power, and purpose in my days. When i do not, my days are not the same. Let us live through our trying times and difficult days for the sake and glory of Christ. Tell me what your favorite part of the message was if you went tonight. God bless you guys.
