Yesterday marked the first seven days Melissa and I have been engaged. It was one intense week, with great joy and cheerfulness. Everyone was so excited for us! I could not help but just soak in all the blessings people were saying about us. What a refreshment it was after all the trials that God has been taking us through in 2008. The Lord is good! Proverbs 12:25 says that a "good word makes the heart glad." Melissa and I sure are enjoying our first 7 days being engaged.
However, I stepped by one night and just examined everything about Melissa and I totally could see why people were so blessed at seeing us engaged. Our relationship is God glorifying, Christ centered, and Spirit satisfying. What an incredible thing i can say or let alone live up to! I pray that i never lose sight of this stand for all the days of my life with Melissa and the Lord Jesus Christ. Let this be an encouragement to you young relationships out there. Make sure your living a life that is pleasing to God and honoring to one another. The way to do that is to be serving together, reading and praying together always, and having self control by walking in the Spirit. Therefore, you will have a God glorifying, Christ centered, and Spirit satisfying relationship that will be so fruit-full and faith-filled, blessing you and your Father in heaven!
